Everybody was so excited to see their partners again! At 9am all the teams arrived at school and we were there to wait for them and to greet them. We started the day with an ice-breaking game where all the students and the teachers had to interview each other and to draw his/her partner on a sheet of paper.
Then, we wanted to know what they knew about Belgium and about our customs, so we asked them to summarize their knowledge about our country in a few words.
Right afterwards came the Belgian game about our culture, the Irish and the Danish team won our prizes as all their answers were right.
During lunch time, a huge plate of pasta was served to be up to the city walk in the afternoon. Indeed, we took the whole group to a Liège city tour. They had the chance to go to the Bueren mountain, to see the Peron in the city centre and to enjoy a hot chocolate before going eating at “La Taverne de Tchantchès et Naness”.
Students and teachers were delighted to taste our traditional dish “Les boulets-frites sauce lapin”. At 8:30 it was time to go back to the hostel and to get some sleep to be ready for tomorrow’s visit.
Visiting Brussels have never been so fun with that group of motivated students and teachers. In the morning they went to the Chocolate museum where they could learn where our famous chocolate came from and where they could even taste some pralines.
We walked down a little bit to the centre of Brussels where our guide was waiting for us. They took us to the most famous places and of course to the “Grand Place” where everyone could have a wonderful view of the most touristic place in Brussels. Then they finally discovered the “Manneken Piss” and the great Brussels waffles and Belgian fries.
At 5 we went back to the coach to head to Liege and to have some activities at the hostel.
Students danced and sang some Spanish and Danish songs, they had great fun together at “l’Auberge Simenon” but they didn’t go to bed too late because on Wednesay they had a treasure hunt at school.
Our favourite PE teacher prepared a wonderful treasure hunt around school but also a blind tasting where students had to recognize Belgian sweets while blindfolded. They did very well and of course they enjoyed a lotall the chocolate, candies but we can’t say the same about Herve cheese.
After having played that tasty game and the treasure hunt, they went to the sports hall and tries the amazing “Lu”, our virtual interactive white board.
In the afternoon, we took them to our cinema room where they watched “in Bruges” to prepare the next day: the tour of the Venice of the North, one of the most beautiful cities in Belgium: Bruges.
In the evening, the played some board games and work on the legend “The Lake of Love” for tomorrow’s visit.
