The Institut Provincial d’Enseignement Secondaire of Seraing is a secondary public school located in the town of Seraing, situated 20 km far from Liège, in the French speaking area of Belgium. In addition to its steel factories, Seraing is home to the crystal manufacture Val Saint Lambert, which has been operating on the site of an old abbey since 1826. The site of the Arcelor steel company, previously known as Cockerill-Sambre, is the former summer residence of the prince-bishops of Liège. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, from primary local schools but also from other bigger Belgian cities. Indeed, among others we are a sport-study school specialized in football (Standard de Liège) and cycling. We also have a nice economics and business administration specialization as well as a laboratory to train students to become beauty therapists, chemists or biologists.

The majority of teachers use ICT in class and have access to computers or interactive boards. We try to give our students a nice and modern way of learning new things in encouraging teachers and educators to collaborate in most of the curricular subjects.
We are willing to make our students aware of their own learning process and we are trying our best to make them realize that they are real European citizens in involving them into eTwinning projects and Erasmus +. We would like to open them to other
cultures, other ways of thinking and to train them to speak different languages. We are currently involved in two nice eTwinning projects called “Let’s practice Business Skills and Administration” and “Let’s plant a tree together” The first project has started in
September and has been appreciated beyond expectations. Actually, students are truly motivated, curious and inspired by this eTwinning adventure.
